OUWB Technology Support Student Employee

Looking for an Oakland University student to assist with technology support in the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWB-SOM). Technology support includes all OUWB staff, students and faculty as well as technology in our classrooms, conference rooms and study/breakout rooms. Ideally working between 7 - 14 hours per week. Work schedule will vary depending on your class schedule. Looking for a student with the following qualifications:

  • Experience with macOS and iPadOS
  • Experience with various computer hardware
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Ability to keep a schedule, be punctual, and work without direct supervision
  • Problem solving skills
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral) and English proficiency
  • Ability to follow up with customers, provide feedback and see problems through to resolution
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds when needed to move various computer equipment around campus

You will be trained in following skills:

  • Apple device management:  including Jamf/MDM, deployment (setup), warranty repair (AppleCare), data backups, etc.
  • Various O.U. services (NetID accounts, SAIL, Banner, Panopto, Grizznet, etc.)
  • Classroom audio visual and instructional technology hardware and software
  • Advanced troubleshooting
  • Remote computer support
  • Using a ticketing system
  • Customer service
  • Inventory management
