REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Education & Civic Engagement
CLASSIFICATION: Part-time hourly, non-exempt
RATE: $18-$22/hour depending on experience
AVAILABILITY
Join the team as a di Rosa Art Instructor for our summer camps! We are hiring for all four weeks of Camp di Rosa.

Summer camp weeks are July 6-110, July 13-17, July 20-24 & July 27- July 31.
Two days of training/prep will take place on or around June 25th and June 26th.
SUMMARY
Art Instructors report to the Associate Director of Education & Civic Engagement and are responsible for providing quality visual arts instruction at Camp di Rosa. This active position works with staff to deliver exciting and innovative art experiences that are fun, informative, and inspire the creative potential in par-ticipants. Visual art time at Camp di Rosa utilizes media such as painting, clay and printmaking. Art mak-ing ideas are generated from the abundant art and nature found at di Rosa. Instructors will work side by side with Nature Instructors and Camp Leaders in Training. Nature experiences at Camp di Rosa involve activities like fishing, archery, bird watching, hiking, plant and flower identification.
ABOUT DI ROSA
Protected in perpetuity under the Napa County Land Trust, di Rosa features multiple galleries, a sculpture park, and a 35-acre lake, all located on 217 scenic acres in Napa Valley’s famed Carneros region. di Rosa originated as the vision of Rene di Rosa (1919-2010), a prolific collector whose famed vineyards enabled his development of a world-class art collection. Together with his wife Veronica di Rosa (1934–1991), he used the sale of his vineyards to build an “art park” for the greater public. The organization was incorporated as a nonprofit public trust in 2000.

Today di Rosa presents contemporary exhibitions by Bay Area-based artists and an array of educational programs for all ages, in addition to maintaining a permanent collection of notable works by artists with ties to the Bay Area from the mid-twentieth century to the early 2000’s. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
General
• With the Nature Instructor, supervise and manage a camp group of similar age (6-8, 9-11, or 12-14 years old) children.
• Ensure camper safety during all activities; immediately communicate any safety to camp manage-ment.
• Obtain a CPR/First Aid certification and a fingerprint/background check. (Paid by di Rosa.)
• Collaborate with Nature Instructor, providing concrete direction and feedback as needed during art lessons, and providing support during nature activities.
• Supervise and mentor Camp di Rosa Leaders in Training when they rotate through your group.
• Attend all training sessions and meetings.
• Communicate in a timely manner with Camp di Rosa Director. 
Visual Arts & Nature Instruction
• Lead the set up and break down of your group’s art and activity supplies, including daily cleaning and organizing supplies.
• Deliver art lessons and support nature activities per Camp curriculum, adjusting to fit your groups’ interests and individual camper needs.
• Demonstrate leadership through positive contributions to overall camp environment and through participation in all-camp activities.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS 
• Experience providing art instruction to groups of children ages six to fourteen.
• Knowledge of various art mediums and their applications and uses.
• Ability to walk a minimum of 4 miles daily.
• Excellent group management and communication skills, high energy, and enthusiastic attitude. 
• Resourceful and proactive with proven problem-solving abilities.
