Madison College Fitness and Events Coordinator Intern - Athletics/Recreation - Summer 2027
As an intern of the Madison College Recreation Department, you will be expected to contribute your unique talents and energies to the program. In return, you will be given the opportunity to grow and advance your personal strengths and abilities while learning new skills
Responsibilities
Fitness Center Supervisor
- Supervise Fitness Center Employees
- Create user engagement activities
- Develop marketing material
- Oversee maintenance and cleaning protocols
- Record and create user reports
- Manage Corporate and Community User Memberships
- Produce personal training plans for users
- Direct personal training program for employees
- Manage group fitness class attendance
- Perform routine and emergency equipment and facility maintenance
- Delegate work to student workers
- Communicate programs and tools to all users
- Enforce facility policies
Capitol Basketball League
- Promote the league to local communities
- Communicate with community representatives for league organization
- Compile league schedules
- Input league results
- Provide & input content for the league website
- Update changes to league teams
- 3 on 3 League Director
- Operate Fusion Recreation Software
Goodman Sports Complex
- Manager on duty during events
- Organize facility use schedule
- Invoice customers
- Develop a marketing strategy and materials
- Monitor Weather Management System
- Sell advertising to local businesses
- Recruit potential customers/users
Camps
- Schedule athletic camps
- Promote camps via athletics website and social media
- On-site supervisor during camps
- Communicate logistics to participants
- Follow up with the user to provide feedback for improvement
Intramurals
- Schedule Programs
- Promote programs via WolfPack Connect, Social Media, Website Site and in-person tabling
- On-site supervisor during camps
- Communicate logistics to participants
- Follow up with the user to provide feedback for improvement
Miscellaneous
- Other duties as necessary to provide excellence within the Madison College Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation departments
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Commitment
- 35-40 hours per week, nights and weekends included
- Position reports directly to the Fitness and Recreation Director
- Position starts May 19, 2027
- Position ends August 31, 2027
Pay is a $2,000 Stipend
