High School Latin Teacher
The Tome School is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the full-time role of High School Latin Teacher for the 2026/2027 academic year. Qualified candidates should have the capacity to teach various levels of Latin courses to a range of students, to include Latin I through Latin IV. This is a great opportunity to teach eager students interested in the classics.

Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instruction for assigned Latin courses (Latin I-IV)
- Prepare academic materials, including syllabi, homework, notes, assessments, and assignments/projects
- Facilitate classroom discussions on subject matter, encouraging participation of all students
- Complete grading, progress reports, and report cards in a timely manner
- Communicate with students, parents, and other faculty as appropriate
- Model and uphold the rules and values of the school
- Attend required division and school meetings and events
- Contribute to the life of the whole school community, in general
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, in Education or subject-related field
- Proven teaching experience, with knowledge of subject matter
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Good technology skills, to include Google Suite
- Organized and punctual
- Background check required
