Learning Plus Tutoring is a well-established, privately-owned small tutoring center in the Cambrian area of San Jose. We are looking for intelligent, upbeat, reliable, and capable local educators!

1. We need a tutor that can tutor K-8 students in multiple subjects including phonics, comprehension, math, and writing and is willing to spend time being trained to correctly administer our programs.

2. We need one-on-one tutors for in-person instruction in ALL LEVELS of math, from elementary or middle school through calculus. The ability to teach sciences is also a valuable asset for this position. Hours would be weekday afternoons and Saturday.

The schedule for this position is Weekday afternoons and Saturday through the end of the school year, and all new hires must be able to work our ACADEMIC SUMMER CAMP that runs 9am - 12pm Monday to Friday from June 15 to July 31st. This is not just a summer job- I am looking for tutors that can continue teaching after school and on Saturdays into the fall. Please do not apply if you do not have these hours available or are just looking for summer work.

You must be intelligent and already very well-versed in how to teach young people, but we will also train you on our programs. You must have impeccable oral and written communication and want to work! I need an eager problem-solver with experience teaching or tutoring, preferably with a college degree or teaching credential. A good personality and a high level of ethics and professionalism is a must for this position, and you must be able to start immediately and have reliable transportation. THE ABILITY TO WORK WEEKDAY AFTERNOONS and SATURDAYS is a prerequisite for being hired on at this time.

I test all of our applicants, so if you do not have the aforementioned skills or experience, please refrain from applying. I am looking for serious applicants only with prior experience tutoring students and/or working with children that can commit to 10-20 hours a week and staying in the position for at least 18 months to 2 years or beyond.

Pay ranges based on experience and abilities. If you have a teaching credential or are a professional with a degree already, your starting rate will be higher. We have a raise structure based on performance, availability, and student retention.
