College Internship Program — AI Tools & Digital Innovation Subcommittee

About NVEEE

The National Voices for Equality, Education, and Enlightenment (NVEEE) is an award-winning, congressionally recognized national nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing bullying, violence, and suicide through education, mentorship, and community engagement. Our youth-centered programs promote leadership, mental wellness, and social responsibility across the United States.

Subcommittee Overview

The AI Tools & Digital Innovation Subcommittee sits within NVEEE's Administrative & Operational Support Committee and is focused on integrating artificial intelligence tools into the organization's daily operations, communications, and programming. Interns in this role will work directly with platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, and other emerging AI tools to improve efficiency, support cross-committee workflows, and help NVEEE operate more effectively as a growing national nonprofit. This is an opportunity for students with an interest in applied AI to contribute meaningfully to a mission-driven organization while gaining practical, hands-on experience at the intersection of technology and social impact.

Responsibilities

Communications & Content Drafting

  • Use AI tools to draft, refine, and edit internal and external communications, including emails, program materials, announcements, and reports
  • Develop and maintain a prompt library of reusable AI prompts tailored to NVEEE's recurring communication needs across committees
  • Support the review and quality control of AI-generated content to ensure accuracy, tone, and alignment with NVEEE's brand voice and mission

Workflow Automation & Operational Support

  • Identify operational tasks across committees that could be streamlined or automated using AI-assisted tools, including Claude, ChatGPT, Zapier, and Jotform
  • Assist in building and documenting automated workflows that reduce manual effort for the internship team and Executive Director
  • Troubleshoot and refine existing automations to improve reliability and consistency

Research & Data Analysis

  • Conduct AI-assisted research on topics relevant to NVEEE's mission, including bullying prevention, youth mental health, nonprofit best practices, and grant opportunities
  • Summarize research findings into actionable briefs or reports for use by program and fundraising committees
  • Explore and evaluate emerging AI tools that could benefit NVEEE's operations, and present recommendations to the internship team

Content Creation Support

  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Committee to support AI-assisted content ideation for social media, newsletters, and campaign materials
  • Assist in developing content outlines, drafts, and editing checklists using AI tools to improve turnaround time and consistency across platforms
  • Help establish internal guidelines for the responsible and effective use of AI-generated content across the organization

Documentation & Training

  • Document workflows, prompt libraries, and tool guides in NVEEE's Notion workspace for use by current and future interns
  • Assist in developing brief training materials or tutorials to help other interns across committees use AI tools responsibly and effectively in their own work

Time Commitment

This is a remote, unpaid internship requiring 20–40 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible but should fall within Monday–Friday. Academic credit may be arranged through your institution; NVEEE will provide all required supporting documentation upon request.

Qualities for Success

  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar platforms; prior experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to evaluate, refine, and quality-check AI-generated output
  • Detail-oriented, with an understanding that AI tools require human oversight and editorial judgment
  • Organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple projects and document work clearly
  • Strong written communication skills and comfort working across different content types and tones
  • Collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues across committees
  • Genuine enthusiasm for leveraging technology in service of social impact and youth empowerment

Benefits

  • Intern with an award-winning, congressionally and nationally recognized nonprofit organization
  • Receive direct mentorship from NVEEE's Executive Director and Founder
  • Gain applied, resumé-building experience working with AI tools in a real-world nonprofit setting
  • Receive a letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the internship
  • Access professional development opportunities and networking within the nonprofit sector
