Construction Administrator
AE Design is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Construction Administrator to support project teams during the construction phase across Colorado and nationwide. This role focuses on assisting with the coordination and documentation needed to help ensure projects are executed in alignment with design intent. This is an excellent opportunity for an early career professional looking to gain hands-on experience in construction administration in the AEC industry. You will work closely with internal design teams and external partners to support day-to-day construction phase activities while building a strong foundation in project execution. In this role, you will assist with responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and participating in construction site observations.
How You'll Spend Your Day
- Support the construction administration process by assisting teams with day-to-day coordination and tasks between the firm and the Contractor and/or Architect
- Research and respond to RFI's, including discussions with internal team members who were involved in the project's design process
- Review and coordinate equipment submittals for compliance with construction documents
- Perform periodic construction site visits and create corresponding Observation Report summary documents
- Support the review of Change Orders and other contractor documentation as needed during construction
- Perform pre-design site observations for the purpose of detailing existing electrical building conditions.
- Electrical Commissioning, primarily to support IECC required commissioning. Previous commissioning experience is a plus but not required
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Table
- An undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related discipline, or a minimum of 5 + years' experience as an electrical contractor
- Experience in the AEC industry
- Exposure to construction documents, drawings or field coordination
- Understanding of construction processes and building systems with electrical focus preferred
- Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of reviewing submittals, performing site observations, and responding to RFIs
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Eager to learn and grow within the construction administration process
