About Us
New Ivy Education is an international education organization based in Irvine, California. We support students, particularly international students, pursuing U.S. high school and college admissions through academic mentorship, test preparation, research guidance, and college counseling.
Position Overview
We are seeking motivated Academic Mentors to support students in academic coursework, standardized test preparation, research projects, academic writing, and college preparation. Mentors are matched with students based on their academic background, subject expertise, and experience.
This flexible part-time role is ideal for graduate students, advanced undergraduates, researchers, and early-career professionals who enjoy working with ambitious students preparing for U.S. academic pathways, college admissions, competitions, research opportunities, and advanced coursework.
Responsibilities
Academic Mentors may support students in one or more of the following areas:
Tutor students in SAT, ACT, AP, AMC, TOEFL, or subject-specific coursework
Support academic planning, study skills, and learning strategies
Mentor research projects, academic writing, or portfolio development
Guide students in exploring majors, summer programs, competitions, or academic enrichment opportunities
Communicate professionally with students, families, and New Ivy Education staff
Track student progress and provide timely updates as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, PhD, or current candidacy in STEM, humanities, social sciences, arts, education, or a related field
Strong academic background and communication skills
Tutoring, teaching, mentorship, research advising, or academic coaching experience preferred
Familiarity with U.S. college admissions, standardized testing, or academic competitions is a plus
Responsible, organized, responsive, and student-focused
