Morning Multimedia Journalist

Do you light up on camera? Can you find the fun, uplifting and engaging side of news while still delivering strong journalism?

 

WPSD LOCAL 6, the NBC affiliate in the 90th market, is looking for a creative, energetic Morning MMJ to help bring a fresh spark to our morning newscast. This is not a traditional morning reporter role. We’re looking for someone with personality, creativity and great storytelling instincts who can connect with viewers and make mornings a little brighter.

 

You’ll own and present “good news” and feature-driven content in an upbeat, entertaining and authentic way, producing the kind of stories that make people smile and keep them watching. You’ll have the freedom to pitch creative live segments, showcase your personality and help shape a morning product that stands out. When breaking news happens overnight, you’ll be ready to shift gears and deliver urgent, impactful reporting that matters.

 

At WPSD, you’ll work alongside an award-winning newsroom that develops talent. Our journalists consistently move on to larger markets after sharpening their skills here, and this role offers the chance to build a standout reel that showcases both personality-driven storytelling and hard-news reporting.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • A creative storyteller with a strong on-camera presence 
  • Someone who can find and develop engaging, community-focused stories 
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, competitive newsroom 
  • Strong live reporting skills with the ability to ad-lib and connect naturally 
  • Social media savvy with a strong understanding of audience engagement
