Senior Finance Analyst

Position: Senior Finance Analyst

Location: Rockville, MD

Terms: Fulltime

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hand on experience in accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review periodic financial statements, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and relevant financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial teams to review contracts, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and accurate revenue recognition.
  • Prepare annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts, providing detailed financial analysis and variance reporting.
  • Prepare and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, optimizing the company’s tax position.
  • Assist in the development of financial controls and reporting aligned with company standards (as needed).
  • Evaluate and implement finance technologies, ensuring systems are optimized for financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with legal, product, and compliance teams to ensure financial alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of financial analysis in a technology product environment.
  • 4+ years of senior-level accounting management experience in a fast-paced technology company. Experience in the healthcare or IoT industries is a plus
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, ASC 606, and experience managing compliance with SOC 2 and other regulatory standards.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance reporting at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Experience with payroll and a proven ability to streamline accounting processes.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced skills in Excel.  Prior experience in [list technologies] preferred but not a requirement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree and CPA preferred but not required).
  • Proven ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with a strong focus on process optimization
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of managing and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
