Veterinarian Position

Privately owned Alpena Veterinary Clinic in beautiful Northeastern Michigan is looking to add a motivated and driven doctor to our team of compassionate caregivers. Alpena Veterinary Clinic has a customer-centered approach to patient care with a tenacious desire to implement modern medicine. We will consider candidates interested in focusing on companion animals or both companion animals and equine medicine.

The team at AVC provides medical, surgical, regenerative, and alternative medicine for mixed-animal patients at two locations. We have a recently remodeled small animal clinic and an equine treatment center. We take pride in offering modern medicine with a friendly hometown feel. Our clinic culture is one of knowledge and professionalism without drama, where communication is the foundation of our success. This team is driven by goals, regular team meetings, and a dedicated leadership team with years of experience that is interested in everyone’s ideas and suggestions. Our core values support our mission of “Care Comes First”; the team is there to support our doctors with a positive drive to succeed each day. On this team, you will be able to contribute to the direction and decision-making of the leadership team by sharing your ideas and experiences during team meetings.

As a member of the team, you will have the support of an assistant who will learn your habits and help you navigate your onboarding with our clients. We believe a smooth transition is essential for everyone, and that’s what we will provide. If you are an experienced clinician, we encourage your individuality, and if you are new to the field, mentorship is gladly provided as well. The leader of AVC loves learning and would encourage you to attend conferences, classes, or wet labs to expand your knowledge and skills.

The local area is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream, full of state forests, lakes, and rivers that can be enjoyed during all four seasons. This rural community offers a vibrant downtown and many social opportunities. Summers are full of festivals, winters feature concerts, and if you enjoy a quiet lakefront setting, that is available here year-round.
