Students' Art Gallery Assistant

The Students’ Art Gallery (SAG*) at Northern Michigan University is a student-run space dedicated to showcasing the creativity of NMU’s artists.  SAG* Assistants help keep the only student-centered creative space operational. Become a part of the artistic history of NMU.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Opening and closing the gallery and performing basic security checks.

• Monitoring the gallery during open hours at the front desk.

• Answer questions about the exhibitions and the gallery.

• Assist with installing and de-installing exhibitions.

• Occasionally hang posters on campus and in Marquette.

• Special projects as needed (shows, events, workshops, etc.).

Desired Experience:

• Comfortable with handling fragile objects.

• Comfortable using basic tools (hammers, drills, ladders, etc.).

• Ability to work with the general public (all age groups).

This position will remain open on a rolling basis until all of our gallery hours have been filled. Applicants may be contacted during break for interviews.
