Nearly 70% of the 40,000+ college students in the Waco area currently do not attend church regularly. With an aim to reach this generation, Acts Church is seeking a College Pastor with a heart that beats for these students to encounter Jesus, be discipled, and learn to live in healthy, accountable communities.
Key Qualifications:
- Has a personal daily devotional life.
- Thrives on connecting with college students and fostering community.
- Is a disciple of Jesus who makes disciples.
- Joyfully shares faith through personal evangelism.
- Seeks guidance by the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit.
- Has experience or can demonstrate the ability to oversee an impactful College Ministry.
- Seeks to lead by a biblical example in words and actions, both in person and online.
- Embraces Acts Church’s relational values: Honor, Humility, Honesty, Hard Work, Healthy Conflict, and Hope.
- Has attended college (graduate preferred).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Invests time in getting to know college students, sharing Jesus with them, and discipling them.
- Oversees an impactful college service.
- Teaches messages that are biblically sound and challenging to address the needs of students of diverse levels of spiritual maturity (including those who do not yet know Christ, those who are new to Christ, and those who have more understanding and experience in their relationship with Christ).
- Recruits, trains, and empowers students and volunteers to effectively reach College students through Life Groups, campus outreach, and discipleship.
- Helps students engage in the Great Commission by planning and overseeing outreaches and ministry trips.
- Plans an effective transitional strategy to assist individuals entering and exiting the college phase of life.
- As a team player, participates in other Acts Church ministries, services, and special events.
- Implements a plan to connect with college students on Sunday mornings.
- Submits an annual budget for the college ministry.
- Develops and implements a summer college ministry plan.
- Faithfully tithes to and supports the church and its ministries.
- Attends weekly worship services and staff meetings.
