Data Science and Analytics Intern

Diodes is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional Intern to join the Management Decision Systems and Supply Chain team, located in Plano TX as a Data Science and Analytics Intern. As a member of the Global IT team, you will have the opportunity to work with our planning teams on metrics, projects and several key operation systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with software development (R, Python, Java), data wrangling/munging (SQL), data analytics workflows (Jupyter Notebook), machine learning, and data visualization (Tableau).
  • Coursework in machine learning (supervised and unsupervised), mathematics, statistics, computer applications, software engineering, and networking.
  • Ability to query data sources directly using SQL-like query languages from data warehouse.
  • Ability to develop dashboards using curated data
  • Understand Business vision and ability to support strategy and business teams.
  • Passion for developing efficient, testable and scalable analytics algorithms.
  • Familiar with big data analytics tools and distributed systems a plus
  • Ability to contribute to machine learning modeling and design and develop advanced prototypes. Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and a professional environment.

Performance Objectives

This opportunity will ask a student to have the following performance objectives:

  • Utilize data analysis and statistical skills on various supply chain projects and activities.
  • Work with Global teams to understand the problem and partner on providing solutions.
  • Perform data analysis activities for special projects
  • Analyze data and provide actionable insights that drive decisions 
  • Automate and streamline data gathering and reporting methodologies
  • Present results to the leadership team to explain your analysis findings

In order to be considered for an internship, you must be a student currently enrolled in school pursuing an accredited degree program. 

This position is specifically looking for a student enrolled in Mathematics-Statistical or Computer Science. Background course work or exposure to operational and supply chain optimization a plus
