Job Description
UTS is seeking a dedicated and motivated student to join our team as a Business Intelligence (BI) Intern. In this role, you will collaborate closely with UTS developers on BI technology projects, contributing to meaningful data initiatives while building real-world skills. Documentation is a core part of this position — ensuring project processes are transparent, organized, and accessible for future reference. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in BI and data analysis within a supportive, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Structure Analysis: Examine existing data structures to understand the organization's data framework, including sources, formats, and relationships, in collaboration with the UTS team.
- Data Structure Development: Create and modify data structures based on specifications provided by the UTS team.
- BI Content Creation: Develop and maintain BI content — including reports and dashboards — ensuring that data visualizations meet the needs of various stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough project documentation to ensure transparency and serve as a reliable reference for future work.
- Learning & Mentorship: Take advantage of on-the-job learning opportunities and receive mentorship from experienced UTS staff to build practical BI skills and knowledge.
- Technical Skill Development: Participate in on-site training sessions focused on BI tools, data analysis, and programming to support your professional growth.
- Real-World Application: Contribute to active BI projects alongside a professional team, applying classroom knowledge to practical, real-world scenarios.
- Additional Development Tasks: As bandwidth allows, you may be assigned supplementary development tasks within the department based on project priorities.
