The Autism Society of North Carolina is hiring a full-time Assistant Program Director to lead and grow our IGNITE programs for autistic young adults. If you're driven to help others thrive and want to be part of a supportive, mission-focused team—this is the role for you!
What You’ll Do:
- Lead program operations by planning, organizing, and overseeing engaging workshops, activities, and services that support autistic individuals and their families.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, grantors, community partners, members, and families while serving as a key representative of the program.
- Expand community-based opportunities by developing recreation, volunteer, leisure, and engagement experiences that keep programming innovative and impactful.
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and support program staff and volunteers while fostering accountability, collaboration, and high-quality service delivery.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations by managing records, budgets, billing, payroll coordination, compliance, and business processes with accuracy and care.
- Promote program growth by recruiting new members, maintaining strong funder stewardship, and helping ensure services meet health, safety, and regulatory standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in a related Human Services field such Special Education, Recreation Therapy, etc
- 3-5 years' experience working with young adults on the autism spectrum - Level 1
- Experience managing budgets and supervising staff is a desired but not required
- Ability to work one-two nights a week to 7pm and occasional weekends.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment
