Hydrologist Field Specialist
We are seeking to hire a full-time Hydrologist with expertise in field and boat-based data collection, hydro-acoustic instrumentation, hydrodynamics, water quality, and associated data QA/QC to join our team working on projects throughout California. This candidate would be expected to design and implement field monitoring programs, including hydrodynamic, water quality, and sediment data collection.
Candidates must be willing to travel regularly to the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Candidates who are located within driving distance of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta are preferred. This position will be fully remote.

Required skills/attributes:
- Experience working in and around the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta
- Experience designing and implementing hydrodynamic studies
- Experience with hydro-acoustic instrumentation, station servicing, troubleshooting, and data collection and processing
- Ability to manage projects and tasks and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams
- 2-5+ years of experience in a public agency or engineering consulting
- A collaborative and respectful communication style and desire to work with diverse teams
- Willingness to mentor and train fellow team members
Desired skills/attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Professional experience including:
- Preparing and monitoring scopes of work, project schedules, and budgets
- Experience programming and operating instruments for flow, stage, water quality monitoring, and sediment monitoring
- Strong client management and communication
