Banquet Captain
A Day in the Life
The Banquet Captain oversees banquet functions and provides leadership and direction to banquet staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work directly with Banquet Staff, Banquet Manager, and Banquet Chef on preparation for upcoming events.
- Supervise banquet staff during setup, execution, and cleanup of banquet events.
- Communicate with client throughout the event to ensure all requests are met and to anticipate any additional needs.
- Perform the duties, when needed, of Banquet Server, Banquet Bartender, Private Dining Server.
- Hire, train and develop banquet staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 6 months experience in a banquet/catering service setting preferred.
- Must have open availability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to perform independently in a fast paced always changing environment.
- Must be attentive to details.
- Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment.
- Must have open availability to work night, weekends, and holidays.
- Must obtain city and state alcohol permits; and food handler permit.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
