Information Systems Consultant

Job Description

 

The Florida Appellate Courts are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to serve as an Information Systems Consultant I supporting the statewide case management system (C-Track) utilized by Florida’s appellate courts. This position plays a key role in developing reports, analyzing court data, supporting court users, and assisting with ongoing application maintenance, upgrades, and technical support activities. 

 

This position provides technical support and analysis for C-Track, with primary responsibility for report development, report maintenance, and data analysis in support of the seven Florida appellate courts. The successful candidate will design, develop, test, validate, and maintain reports; consult with court users regarding reporting needs; and assist with system support, troubleshooting, upgrades, testing, and implementation activities.

 

Working under the direction of the Information Resource Management Consultant, this position supports statewide court operations by improving reporting capacity, supporting system reliability, and helping ensure that C-Track data is accurately captured and effectively utilized for operational and administrative purposes. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Develop, test, validate, maintain, and deliver custom, recurring, and ad hoc reports from C-Track. 
  • Analyze reporting requests and examine source data for accuracy and consistency. 
  • Create reporting methodologies and document report logic and processes. 
  • Refine reports based on user feedback and evolving business needs. 
  • Support operational, statistical, management, and administrative reporting needs statewide. 

 

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Assist with troubleshooting, issue analysis, user support, and configuration support related to C-Track. 
  • Analyze application behavior and data issues and assist with problem resolution. 
  • Coordinate with technical staff and stakeholders to maintain reliable day-to-day operation of C-Track.

 

System Upgrades & Implementation

  • Participate in application upgrades, enhancements, testing, and implementation activities. 
  • Assist with test planning, test execution, documentation, and post-implementation follow-up. 
  • Prepare user instructions, documentation, and supporting materials.

 

User Consultation & Collaboration

  • Consult with court users regarding reporting needs and technical issues. 
  • Clarify business requirements and recommend reporting approaches or technical solutions. 
  • Collaborate with court staff, Office of Information Technology staff, vendors, and associated agencies on reporting, troubleshooting, and system improvement efforts. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge of computer systems analysis, application support, reporting tools, databases, and data validation practices. 
  • Knowledge of report writing, report design, troubleshooting methods, software testing, and implementation support. 
  • Skill in using reporting tools, databases, Microsoft 365 applications, Tableau, ticketing systems, and related software tools. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to users with varying levels of technical expertise. 
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines with limited supervision. 

 

Education and Training Guidelines

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or a closely related field.

 

Experience

Refers to the amount of related work experience that is recommended for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the required tasks. Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.

 

Two years of related experience.
