2nd Grade Teacher
Job description
Saint Anna Catholic School, Leominster MA is looking for a full-time 2nd grade teacher.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Curriculum Development: Designing, planning, and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with school and diocesan standards.
- Instruction: Teaching phonics, reading, spelling, writing, math, science, social studies, and religion
- Behavioral Expectations: Establish, communicate, and maintain consistent classroom rules and school-wide discipline expectations.
- Supervision: Monitor students in the classroom, during transitions, and at dismissal to ensure a safe environment.
- Classroom Environment: Create a welcoming, organized, and encouraging classroom culture.
- Performance Evaluation: Evaluate academic and social growth, maintain accurate records, and prepare report cards and progress reports..
- Parent Communication: Regularly update parents on student progress through conferences, emails, newsletters, or phone calls.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to improve student outcomes.
- Professional Development: Attend workshops to enhance teaching techniques
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's in education or related field
- Experience working with students in camps, child care, or coaching
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate students and manage small and large groups
- CPR and first aid certification
