O-1 Paralegal / Creative Writer

We are a downtown boutique immigration law firm currently looking for someone who is interested in being an immigration paralegal, working on preparing exciting O-1 petitions. Experience and a passion for creative writing and storytelling is a must.

Our portfolio of clients include world renowned advertising and design agencies, media and entertainment firms, luxury fashion labels, high-end hotels and restaurants, technology companies and financial services firms as well as extraordinary individuals and celebrities working in those industries.

About you:

You are intellectually curious. You love researching. You would like to change people’s lives and careers with your creative writing skills. Storytelling through creative writing is your idea of a fun writing exercise. You feel confident diving in to a client’s professional career and achievements and crafting colorful yet strategic narratives about the clients’ triumphs. You have strong written communication skills. You enjoy being a part of the clients’ journey by joining the initial consultation through full preparation of the petition until filing and in celebrating and rejoicing in their approval. You are conscientious and friendly. You enjoy problem solving. You are attentive to detail. You take pride in being precise and accurate. You’re highly organized. You are proactive and take initiative. You like foreigners (i.e. people that aren’t from the US), and you’d love to feel like you are helping people make their American dream of living and working in America come true.

Paralegal responsibilities will include: 

Research and creative writing, communicating with clients, data entry of forms, data entry into our case management software, Clio, booking visa appointments, preparing other legal documents for review by senior paralegals and attorneys.

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

Impeccable English grammar and written skills are critical, ability to demonstrate strong critical thinking, ability to work well with colleagues, precision and accuracy in completing tasks.
