Administrative Intern
Supreme Consultants, LLC founded in 2002, is composed of a professional, culturally-sensitive, and multi-lingual staff whose primary mission is to link social, educational and behavioral health agencies with qualified professionals to provide culturally competent services that meet the needs of their clients. Our goal is the elimination of the cultural and linguistic issues that typically get in the way of delivering the best service to clients.
We are looking for Undergrads that would like to gain experience or for credit work in an administrative capacity at our social service office. The internship is unpaid, but is flexible to your schedule as you create your own schedule. We require at least 15 hours a week for at least 3 months.
Interns assist our agency throughout its different programs. The internship is administrative, working in our office, but interested applicants will be allowed the opportunity to work with at-risk youth on a per diem basis as a Mentor. This allows the intern to experience both sides of the social service field.
General Administrative Duties Include:
· Inputting case information on our database
· Create client profiles
· Making Quality Assurance calls to families we service
· Verifying paperwork intended for Medicaid billing
· Creating and updating spreadsheets
· Filing documentation
· Answering incoming phone calls from Care Managers/Families/Contractors and directing them to the appropriate source
· Assist with creating training packets for orientation of new contractors
· Conducting reference calls
If interested in first hand field experience working with a client population then our Mentoring program is ideal for students. The mentoring role is optional but the position looks to help a young person achieve their potential and discover their strengths. The mentor and his/her mentee share in various activities anywhere from 2-4 hours a week. The mentor exposes youth to new experiences in their community, encourages positive decision making, promotes self-esteem, and supports academic achievement. Mentors will be paid $18/hour.
What a Supreme Consultants Intern Gains:
· Exposure to real life case notes and symptomology
· Learning and writing of own case notes and development of a care plan
· Gain essential office skills in a growing, fast-paced and unique organization
· Access to social service job opportunities
· Career/Occupational awareness
