Dining and Retail Services - Cambridge Residential Staff (Fall 2026)

Join our team! Students can work 7 days/week, up to 25 hours/week (20 hours/week for international students). Unit supervisors work around your class schedule. 

Free transportation to and from Cambridge is provided by the UWM shuttle service.

HOURS 

Must have availability to work 10-15 hours/week 

Morning, afternoon, nights 

Weekend availability required 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Assisting with all phases of food preparation for salads, sandwiches, beverages, entrees, soups, and specialty items   
  • Creating a welcoming environment for guests and providing excellent customer service    
  • Maintain sanitation standards and portion control per supervisor instructions     
  • Set up serving stations that include utensils, food, dishes, supplies, and condiments     
  • Maintain beverage station dispensers and refill as necessary     
  • Replenish condiments and serving utensils     
  • Stock necessary items using FIFO (First-in First-out) stocking procedures  
  • Cashiering duties  
  • Dish room duties  
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS   

  • Individuals are UWM students that are currently enrolled in classes and are willing to learn     
  • Available to work weekend shifts   
  • Must be responsible and reliable     
  • Can work quickly, accurately, and maintain a pleasant disposition.      
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. repeatedly      
  • Stand for a minimum of 4 hours continuously     
  • Utilize kitchen tools safely     
  • Maneuver throughout a kitchen environment
