R2026102534 Animal Care Technician
Laboratory Animal Resources has an immediate opening for one or more Animal Care Technicians. This position provides care to a variety of research animals including rodents, rabbits, cats, dogs, fish, livestock and wildlife species. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend, approximately 3-6 hours both days. Weekday hours are flexible depending upon class schedules, and will fall between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm. This position is on-going, and we hope to hire students that will remain with us until they graduate. You will gain a considerable amount of animal handling experience in this role.

Required Job Qualifications
Previous animal care experience. You will not be considered if this isn’t demonstrated on your resume. If you do not have previous animal experience you may contact Ashley.imperia@colostate.edu to inquire about volunteer opportunities.
Ability to work on holidays and during class breaks
Reliable transportation to travel to foothills campus including on weekends
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bending, standing, kneeling
At least 2 semesters of time remaining with CSU
Preferred Job Qualifications
Experience working with a variety of animal species
Experience in a research setting
Essential Duties
Observe animals and their environment daily and report abnormalities V/ WC
Provide food, water and enrichment CD
Clean and sanitize caging, equipment and facilities TW
Administer medical treatments to animals CD
Complete paperwork such as daily task checklists and medical records V/ WC
Work independently and efficiently CT/ PS
