Compliance Manager
BDH is a diversified UAE based group with interests in construction services, real estate, engineering, facilities services and hospitality and is focused on building modern, well governed and technology enabled businesses.
We are seeking the right candidate to:
• Lead the internal compliance function across the holding company and its group businesses
• Review, maintain and improve internal policies, procedures, controls and governance documents across the group
• Ensure staff understand, follow and remain aligned with company policies, internal controls and required standards
• Monitor the business for compliance with applicable local laws, regulations and relevant international industry standards
• Identify compliance gaps, control weaknesses and policy breaches, and raise concerns clearly to management
• Support the implementation of a structured compliance management framework across the group
• Work with management, HR, legal, QA and operations to ensure policies are practical, current and properly embedded in day to day operations
• Oversee internal compliance reviews, policy attestations, monitoring activity and related reporting
• Ensure appropriate compliance training and awareness activity is in place for staff and management
• Track regulatory and standards developments relevant to the business and update internal frameworks accordingly
• Maintain compliance registers, monitoring logs, issue trackers and management reporting
• Escalate material compliance, governance and conduct risks in a clear and commercially practical manner
• Support a strong culture of integrity, accountability and consistent internal governance across all entities
We need someone who has:
• Strong compliance, governance or regulatory experience within an in house environment or similarly complex business structure
• Strong understanding of internal policy frameworks, monitoring, controls and compliance reporting
• Ability to assess whether the business is operating in line with applicable laws, regulations and recognised standards
• Experience building or maintaining compliance management systems and internal assurance processes in line with recognised frameworks such as ISO 37301
• Ability to translate legal, regulatory and policy requirements into practical internal procedures and staff guidance
• Strong experience in policy review, staff training, breach identification, issue escalation and remediation follow up
• Good judgement, attention to detail and ability to challenge constructively where standards are not being met
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to work across HR, legal, operations, finance and leadership teams
• Real estate, property, construction or wider built environment experience preferred
• ICA qualification in Governance, Risk and Compliance, ICA Certified Head of Compliance, or equivalent compliance qualification preferred; candidates with a strong legal background will also be considered
• Degree in Law, Business, Risk, Governance or similar preferred
