ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP- ARCHITECTURAL

What would a typical day on the job be like? What work would I do? 

As an intern for the Department of Engineering Architectural Services Division, you will spend your time learning the facets of the Architectural field. 

On-the-job training will be provided. An internship with the Architectural Services Division may include the attendance to project meetings, draft small floor plans, elevations and learn to develop project specifications. 

The Architectural Services Division is responsible for In-house design, administration, inspection and quality control services related to architectural projects in public buildings and parks. 

Tasks may include coordinating project details and sections to floor plans, develop project notes, research property studies and special reports needed to complete architectural projects. 

How much money can I make and when do I start? 

The rate of pay will be $15.00 per hour. The intern’s schedule may be flexible. 

What are the qualifications for this position? 

This internship requires effective communication skills, both verbally and written. 

The ability to work independently with strong situational awareness is vital for safety during fieldwork. 

Interest in AutoCAD and/or Revit and interested in architectural drawings. K n o w l e d g e o f AutoCAD and/or Revit. Ability to create architectural drawings is a plus. 

What type of degree program will be best suited for this internship? 

We are looking for Graduate or Undergraduate students who may be looking towards a career in the architectural field.
