Technical Automation Intern

About the Role

Cargas is offering a unique internship opportunity on our Business Operations team. As a Technical Automation Intern, you'll deliver real automation projects from the Enterprise Enablement backlog, owning initiatives from scoping and design through build, testing, and launch. Reporting to the Enterprise Project Manager, you’ll use tools such as Power Automate, Copilot Studio, AI/LLM-enabled workflows, and APIs to build solutions that drive measurable impact across the organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand process needs and translate requirements into automation solutions.
  • Build and configure automations using Power Automate, Copilot Studio, APIs, and related integrations.
  • Design workflow logic, data mappings, and error handling to ensure reliable, user‑friendly outcomes.
  • Create and document test plans, validate results, and resolve issues to support successful deployment.
  • Support rollout activities by providing documentation, training, and user enablement resources.
  • Track tasks and timelines and communicate status, risks, and next steps to the project team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation performance, scalability, and maintainability. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Education: 
    • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, ideally in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Junior standing or above.
    • Completion of at least one relevant course in programming, information systems, data, or another technical subject.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage coursework deliverables or personal projects independently.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLMs and Microsoft tools.
  • Basic scripting skills.
  • Understanding of enterprise data concepts and data security practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact professionally with stakeholders at various levels.
