Software Engineer Intern (LIONDRAGON STUDIO, Pack Intern, Summer 2026)

About LIONDRAGON STUDIO INC: 

We are a small game development studio specializing in creating educational games/apps. Currently we are hoping to create a suite of games to encourage high school students to enter certain career paths currently underserved in Nevada. Bring your love of gaming and your knowledge of game design and development to LIONDRAGON this summer to help create exciting content. 

 

Internship Description: 

As a Software Development Intern at LIONDRAGON, you will work closely in a cohort, applying your C++/Python/Swift/ReactJS/Typescript programming skill to develop, review, test and enhancing code test-coverage. You may have the opportunity to prototype new features, assist in technical design and specification, and validate code through unit-testing. You may be involved in researching and developing new tools to streamline our development workflow. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Complete 360 hours of work as an intern (32-40 hours per week, 9 weeks minimum) 
  • Programming in C++/Python/Swift/ReactJS/Typescript to develop high-quality software solutions. 
  • Prototyping new features and functionalities, contributing to innovation and product development. 
  • Assisting with technical design and specification of new features, ensuring alignment with project goals. 
  • Conducting thorough code reviews and validation through unit testing to maintain code integrity and quality standards. 
  • Researching, evaluating, and developing new tools that enhance the development workflow, optimizing efficiency 

 

Goals and Expectations of the Intern: 

As a software development intern, you're expected to actively contribute to team projects, collaborating effectively within the cohort. You'll maintain prompt and responsive communication in all interactions. A core responsibility will be programming in C++/Python/Swift/ReactJS/Typescript to develop high-quality software solutions, and you'll also evaluate or develop new tools to enhance the overall development workflow. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate OR graduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno after the Spring ‘26 semester  
  • Spring ‘26 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program 
  • Student must be enrolled in a major or minor program in the following colleges: 
    • Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Natural Resources (CABNR) 
    • Business 
    • Engineering 
    • Science 
    • Public Health/Orvis 
  • Fluency in one or more of the following coding languages:
    • C++ 
    • Python 
    • Swift 
    • ReactJS 
    • Typescript, MySQL 
    • MongoDB 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experienced in NodeJS, MongoDB, Swift programming for apple watch. 

 

Desired Schedule for Intern: 

Full-time (40/week) 

 

Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 360 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
