Synectics is a Sacramento-based provider of data management services for environmental programs. Since 1996, we've worked with federal, state, and local agencies to help them manage environmental data, track compliance, and improve internal workflows. Our work supports scientists, engineers, and program managers in making data-driven decisions.
About the Role
We’re looking for a part-time intern to support internal organization, document management, and light marketing support tasks. This role is best suited for someone detail-oriented who enjoys organizing information, keeping records accurate, and helping teams stay coordinated.
Responsibilities
- Maintain internal tracking logs and update basic records
- Scan, label, and organize company documents in our internal systems
- Keep shared folders and files organized and easy to locate
- Assist with organizing meeting notes and follow-ups for the team
- Support simple website or social media updates (copy/paste, formatting, scheduling)
- Help with small formatting and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail
- Organized and reliable work habits
- Comfortable working with routine, repetitive tasks
- Basic familiarity with spreadsheets, shared folders, and documents
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently once trained
- Available to work on-site 10–15 hours per week

Preferred Skills

Pay range and compensation package
- Base pay: $17/hour
- Part-time: approximately 10–15 hours per week to start
- Temporary: approximately 3 months, with potential for extension and/or additional hours depending on workload, performance, and business needs
- Schedule during business hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
