About Mass Bay Counseling: Mass Bay Counseling believes in creating the best atmosphere for our clients and for our staff.  We strive to ensure Pre-Licensed and Associate Clinicians receive quality supervision from trained professionals, are provided with the tools they need to learn and flourish, and are able to work in a supportive, non-judgmental environment in which they are comfortable learning and exploring throughout their professional development. Our mission is to create an environment where our therapists are truly able to support and guide those we people work with toward finding the best version of themselves in order to live happy and satisfying lives, and we believe that the environment and culture we create directly contributes to making this mission a reality.

Our Values: Mass Bay Counseling lives by values that guide who we are as a team and how we show up for our community. We hire and promote staff who truly embody these values.

Positive and supportive culture: We know that when people love where they work and are provided support and resources to flourish, they are happier, more fulfilled, and do exceptional work. We strive to create a culture at Mass Bay that is joyful, nurtures growth, and prioritizes appreciation for our indispensable team. We value building relationships and promoting strong, supportive bonds within our team. Our leadership team comes from a place of servant leadership-- we focus on the growth and well-being of our employees, leading to employees who are aligned with our values, and committed to the practice of socially-just therapy, which in turn contributes to positive growth for clients, our practice and our communities. You will never be just a cash cow at Mass Bay.

Lifelong Learning: Mass Bay Counseling believes that we are always learning and growing. Mass Bay Counseling practices clinical supervision that focuses on clinician development, addressing skill acquisition and the self-of-therapist, not productivity goals. Mass Bay is unique our work to mitigate financial barriers to clinician growth by providing a generous continuing education stipend, hosting paid monthly in-house trainings, providing ongoing clinical support through paid monthly individual consultation to ALL clinicians regardless of licensure status, scheduling paid monthly group consultation opportunities, and empowering our clinicians to schedule consults as-needed. This also allows us to ensure our clinicians do not feel abandoned or stunted in their growth after their license has been obtained.

Commitment to Social Justice: We engage in continual efforts to ensure that our practice, culture, environment, and relationships fully embody and reflect our commitment to welcome, support, and empower all members of our community and society. We believe that we must use our power as clinicians to move us to a more just and equitable world.  We do this through ongoing self-examination (both professionally and personally), amplifying and attending to the voices and experiences of marginalized groups, and by understanding how political, societal, institutional, and interpersonal power and privilege dynamics affect our clients, ourselves, and our work.

Invest in quality: Mass Bay Counseling is one of the few group practices which actively engages in advocacy for higher reimbursement rates for our clinicians with insurance companies, working to ensure our clinicians are paid appropriately for this challenging work.  We promote continued education and resources for our clinicians so clients can feel safe knowing their therapist is always growing in their skill. Additionally, we commit ourselves to providing an optimal atmosphere for our clients and our team. Our beautiful office provides a comfortable workspace for our employees and a welcoming space for our clients. Mass Bay Counseling is always looking for areas of improvement in how we can not only meet but exceed clinician and client expectations.

Promoting inclusion: We promote hiring clinicians of varying backgrounds, identities, and specialties to better serve our diverse client population. It’s imperative that our office promotes a foundation of diversity, equity, and inclusivity in its culture and practice. We deeply value diversity and aspire to create an environment where our clients can see themselves in our clinicians, and where we can engage in the curious learning and supportive challenging of our beliefs, biases, values and assumptions that can only come from encountering different experiences and perspectives.
