Summer Editorial Fellowship
Paid Summer 2026 Fellowship at Bethesda Magazine – Graduate Student or Recent Graduate
Published in print six times a year, Bethesda Magazine is a lifestyle magazine covering topics that are interesting and important to residents of Montgomery County and Upper Northwest D.C.—from restaurants, real estate and home design to pressing community issues and local people making a difference.
Bethesda Magazine is seeking a graduate student or a recent college graduate for a paid 10-week fellowship (40 hours per week) for summer 2026. Pay is $18/hour.
Duties may include coming up with story ideas, reporting and writing articles (see past issues for examples of stories: https://bethesdamagazine.com/magazine), writing headlines, fact-checking, proofing stories in layout, participating in editorial meetings (if schedule allows) and general support of the editorial staff. Assignments may also include reporting for Bethesda Today, the digital newsroom of Bethesda Magazine.
Candidates must be available to come into our office in downtown Bethesda. Our office is a couple blocks from the Bethesda Metro station on the red line. Candidates should have a strong familiarity with Montgomery County and transportation to interview subjects in person.
Applicants should send a cover letter, resume and three writing samples to Bethesda Magazine Editor Kathleen Neary at Kathleen.Neary@BethesdaMagazine.com.
