Research Associate/ Senior Research Associate

Contractor Job Description: Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, Viral Vector & Cell Line Development


 

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and enthusiastic researcher to join our team, focusing on developing new technologies for viral vector production and improving cell line development processes for novel molecule modalities. 


 

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing stable cell lines for Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) manufacturing, crucial for gene therapy applications and generating stable CHO cell lines for clinical and commercial manufacturing using Genentech’s industry-leading targeted integration expression technology.


 

The ideal candidate must possess expertise in cell culture and molecular biology techniques directly applicable to cell line development. Prior experience in industry setting is desirable.


 

This position is perfect for a researcher passionate about innovation, gaining drug development experience, and delving into new therapeutic modalities. Success in this role requires:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written).
  • A strong desire to learn and integrate multiple aspects of drug development.
  • A passion for generating life-saving therapeutics for patients.

The selected individual will work closely with the manager to design and execute various experiments in parallel and enjoy working in a team environment. 


 

Skills and Qualifications


 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in:

  • Plasmid design and construction
  • Molecular techniques, including ddPCR, western blotting, ELISA
  • Mammalian cell culture and aseptic cell culture techniques.
  • Robust problem-solving skills.

Education


 

B.S. or M.S. degree with preferably 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or other related disciplines is required.
