Assistant Teacher

Join Soapstone Preschool as an Assistant Teacher and help create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive environment for young learners. In this role, you’ll work alongside lead teachers to support children’s growth, curiosity, social-emotional development, and love of learning. This paid position is a meaningful opportunity to make a difference in children’s lives while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education.

Position Details

  • Positions: Assistant Teachers
  • Hours: 8:30 AM–1:00 PM (M-TH and M-F)
  • Location: Soapstone Preschool, North Raleigh
  • Environment: Faith-based, play-based preschool

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with developmental milestones and individual needs
  • Support children’s learning through engaging play-based activities promoting social-emotional growth and development.
  • Help manage classroom behavior by applying positive behavior management techniques and promoting respectful interactions, including tenets of Conscious Discipline
  • Foster an inclusive environment by working effectively with children with diverse needs
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to active learning and exploration

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Experience working with young children (preschool or early childhood setting)
  • Background in education or a related field
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
  • Reliable and consistent attendance
