Summer Intern

QuistMD is a boutique, physician-owned medical clinic specializing in Osteopathic Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), and Physical Therapy. We pride ourselves on delivering personalized, hands-on care to patients in a calm, healing environment. Our team of professionals—osteopathic physician, Doctors of Physical Therapy, and wellness staff—work collaboratively to restore function and improve quality of life.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a bright, motivated Summer Intern who is eager to be a part of a high-touch, patient-centered practice. This is an exciting opportunity to gain real-world clinical and administrative experience in a tight-knit setting where your contributions will be visible and meaningful.

What You’ll Do

As the summer Intern, you will serve as a vital liaison between our patients and our practice, supporting daily operations across several key areas:

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls with professionalism and warmth
  • Schedule patients using our practice management software
  • Greet patients and visitors, creating a welcoming first impression
  • Prepare and update patient charts
  • Assist with payment processing and general clerical duties

Patient Care & Relations

  • Assist in managing medical records and insurance requests
  • Monitor and respond to the practice’s voicemail and email inbox
  • Help ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Enhance the patient experience by offering attentive, responsive service

Facility Operations

  • Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of exam rooms
  • Monitor and restock office and clinical supplies as needed
  • Support internal controls to protect confidential practice information

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Education: High school diploma required; some college or healthcare-related coursework preferred
  • Experience: 1–2 years in a customer service or healthcare setting (preferred)
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication, both in person and on the phone
    • Proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
    • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently
