Mascot Performer – Summer Position

The Flint Firebirds are looking for an energetic and outgoing individual to join our team as a Mascot Performer for summer community events, with the opportunity to grow into a full-season role during the hockey season.

Position Details

• Seasonal Position: Mid-May through August
• Opportunity for extension into the hockey season (September–March + playoffs)
• Flexible schedule including weekends, festivals, appearances, sponsor events, parades, golf outings, and community events
• Compensation is based on experience and availability and will be discussed during the interview process. 

Responsibilities

• Perform as the Firebirds mascot at community events, appearances, and promotional activities
• Engage with fans of all ages in a fun, professional, and energetic manner
• Represent the Firebirds brand positively throughout the community
• Assist with crowd interaction, photo opportunities, and event entertainment
• Help support vendor booths and community activations during appearances
• Work alongside front office staff during events

Qualifications

• High energy and outgoing personality
• Comfortable performing in costume in front of large crowds
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Summer appearances can involve high temperatures while wearing the mascot suit; breaks and water will be provided throughout events
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable transportation preferred
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events and appearances 
• Previous mascot, dance, cheer, theater, or entertainment experience is a plus, but not required

Opportunity for Growth

This role has the potential to continue into a mascot performer position during the Firebirds hockey season, including home games, playoff games, school visits, sponsor appearances, and community events.
