Education Teacher for grades 6-7-8 COMPUTER/STEM program (summer)

6-hour teaching day
Must be a working NYS-certified teacher (public or private) or a recent BA graduate. Work dates: 6/29-7/24 or 7/27-8/21 (4-week sessions) OR 6/29-8/21 (8-week session).

Knowledge and best practices for technology and hands-on activities as the COMPUTER/EDUCATION specialist. The day's activities (teacher's choice) will be taught multiple times throughout the workday.

EDUCATION: Create engaging activities for campers (examples can include STEM, research projects, print and/or online newsletters, math challenges, mini-book clubs, minute-to-win-it challenges). Knowledge of research websites would be beneficial to share with campers.

COMPUTERS: The class would benefit if applicants have additional knowledge of one or more of the following: history of computers, SCRATCH, website design, Powerpoint presentations, computer research skills, movie-making, animation, coding, or video game design.

Must be able to prepare engaging mini-lessons, incorporate technology, and order supplies for all projects.

Candidates must be creative, responsible, hardworking, and able to modify curriculum for different abilities.
