Position Overview

Bert Adams Scout Camp is seeking a dedicated and organized Health Lodge Director to lead the daily operations of our camp health lodge during the Summer 2026 camping season. This position plays a critical role in supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of campers, volunteers, and staff throughout the summer.

Bert Adams Scout Camp serves thousands of Scouts and adult leaders each summer and operates as a fast-paced resident camp environment. The Health Lodge Director will work closely with camp leadership, medical volunteers, and program staff to ensure quality medical care and compliance with all Scouting America health and safety standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for students or professionals pursuing careers in nursing, healthcare administration, medicine, EMS, public health, or related healthcare fields.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the camp Health Lodge
• Supervise and coordinate volunteer medical staff and Health Lodge assistants
• Manage camper and staff medications according to camp policies
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Respond to illnesses, injuries, and emergencies as needed
• Assist with check-in medical form reviews and health screenings
• Ensure compliance with all Scouting America health and safety guidelines
• Coordinate communication with camp leadership regarding health-related concerns
• Maintain inventory and organization of medical supplies and equipment
• Support overall camp operations and participate as a member of the camp leadership team

Qualifications

Preferred applicants should possess one or more of the following:

• EMT, CNA, LPN, RN, Paramedic, Medical Assistant, or related healthcare certification preferred
• Nursing, pre-med, public health, or healthcare administration student experience
• Experience working with youth preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Must be at least 21 years old preferred
