Role Overview
Prime Academy is looking for dynamic, subject-matter experts to join our faculty for Summer 2026. We specialize in accelerated learning for high-achieving students in grades 3–12. If you are passionate about mentoring the next generation of scholars and have a knack for making complex concepts accessible, we want to hear from you.
Open Positions & Responsibilities
1. English & Creative Writing Specialist (Grades 5-8)
The Mission: Transform middle school students into sophisticated writers and critical thinkers.
Key Tasks: Lead creative writing workshops, teach narrative structure and voice, and provide high-level feedback on student portfolios.
Focus: Bridging the gap between the standard school curriculum and honors/AP-level literary analysis.
2. Mathematics Instructor (Grades 3-12 & AP Level)
The Mission: Move beyond rote memorization to foster deep conceptual understanding and competitive problem-solving skills.
Key Tasks: Deliver curriculum ranging from foundational elementary math to AP Calculus (AB/BC) and AP Statistics.
Focus: Preparing students for top-tier academic performance and competitive math exams (AMC, Math Olympiad, etc.).
Qualifications
Education: Current UC Irvine student (Junior/Senior preferred) or Alumnus with a major in English, Math, Education, STEM, or a related field.
Subject Mastery: Strong academic record in the subject you wish to teach (minimum 3.5 GPA in major coursework preferred).
Experience: Previous tutoring or teaching experience is a plus, but we are primarily looking for clarity in communication and a passion for the subject.
Skills: Ability to manage a classroom of 5–15 students and provide actionable, encouraging feedback.
