Marketing & Digital Intern — Summer 2026 Lighting Gallery | Huntington Station, NY

Marketing & Digital Intern — Summer 2026 Lighting Gallery | Huntington Station, NY

About Lighting Gallery

Lighting Gallery is Long Island's premier destination for designer lighting, ceiling fans, and home décor. Located at 326 E Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, our 5,000 sq ft showroom features thousands of fixtures from the world's top brands — including Visual Comfort, Buster + Punch, Hinkley, and Tala.

Family owned since 1973, we've built our reputation on expert design guidance, personalized service, and an unmatched in-store experience that no big box store or website can replicate. We serve high-net-worth homeowners, interior designers, architects, and builders across Long Island and the tri-state area.

Lighting Gallery is owner-operated by a management consultant and MBA with a background in corporate strategy. We run a modern, data-driven operation — active Google Ads campaigns, a live Shopify store, and a growing digital presence — with the energy and agility of a boutique business.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a motivated marketing student to join our team for Summer 2026. This is a hands-on internship where you'll work directly with ownership on real digital marketing campaigns — not coffee runs. You'll gain practical experience managing an active Google Ads account, updating a live Shopify website, and supporting day-to-day marketing operations for a growing specialty retail brand.

This internship is ideal for students seeking college credit in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.

What You'll Learn & Do

Google Ads — monitor campaign performance, assist with keyword research, help analyze data and reporting across active search campaigns

Shopify & E-Commerce — update product listings, assist with website content, support seasonal promotions and collection updates

SEO & Content — write and update web copy, help optimize pages for local search, assist with Google Business Profile management

Social Media — assist with content planning and posting for Instagram and other platforms

Email Marketing — support promotional email campaigns and list management

Product Photography — assist with capturing showroom and product images for ads and website

Market Research — competitive analysis, local market trends, customer insights

What We're Looking For

Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field

Eligible to receive academic credit for this internship (required)

Strong interest in digital marketing, e-commerce, or retail

Familiarity with Google products (Google Ads, GA4, Google Business Profile) a plus

Shopify or website experience a plus

Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to learn

Local to Long Island — this is an in-person internship

Work Life & Culture

Lighting Gallery isn't your typical retail job. Our showroom is a high-end boutique experience — think curated designer brands, sophisticated clientele, and an environment that feels closer to an interior design studio than a store. Our clients include high-net-worth homeowners, interior designers, architects, and builders — the kind of people who know exactly what they want and appreciate expertise.

We're a small, entrepreneurial team with a cool, hip energy and a professional edge. The music changes day to day, the conversations are interesting, and no two days look exactly the same. Because we're small, everyone gets their hands in everything — there's no hiding behind a title or waiting for someone else to make a decision.

For the right intern, this is a genuinely rare opportunity. You'll work directly with an MBA and former management consultant who built this business with strategy and intention. If you show up, put in the effort, and stay curious — you will leave with real skills, real experience, and a mentor who is invested in your growth.

This is the kind of experience that sets your resume apart.
