Marketing Intern
Materials Testing Consultants (MTC) is a multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm with primary services in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental consulting. We are looking for a creative and resourceful Marketing Intern for the summer of 2026 to work from our Grand Rapids, MI office.
In this position, you will work with the business development and management teams to develop new marketing strategies and materials. The perfect candidate for this position will be studying marketing and have a valid driver’s license and good driving record as they may be visiting job sites or our other offices in Okemos and Dexter, MI.
Responsibilities Include:
- Creating content for different social media platforms including LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Developing and writing blog posts for the website.
- Preparing a monthly internal newsletter to inform employees of important information.
- Exploring opportunities for an external, client-facing newsletter.
- Taking photos on job sites and our offices to build an image library and portfolio.
- Supporting client satisfaction survey preparation and management.
- Tracking marketing metrics to understand the effectiveness of different initiatives.
- Other projects and duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Current enrollment in a related Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with, or the ability to learn, software systems such as Hootsuite and Canva
- Professional communication skills – both written and verbal
- Proofreading and editing experience with a strong attention to detail
- An interest in the civil engineering and/or construction industries
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
