Position Summary

Compass Behavioral Health is seeking a driven, execution-focused Marketing Intern to support measurable growth through digital marketing, referral development, and strategic outreach. This role blends creativity with business impact and is ideal for someone interested in healthcare marketing and real-world growth strategy.

Core Responsibilities (Expected Performance Areas)

1. Digital Marketing Execution

Create and schedule 3–5 social media posts per week across platforms

Develop short-form video content (Reels/TikTok) to increase engagement

Assist in updating website content and service pages

Design branded materials (flyers, referral sheets, email graphics)

2. Referral & Outreach Development

Conduct weekly outreach (minimum 20–50 contacts/week) to clinics, hospitals, treatment centers, and community organizations

Build and maintain a structured referral database

Support execution of email campaigns and track response rates

Identify and initiate new partnership opportunities

3. Growth & Strategy Support

Conduct market research on competitors and target populations

Track KPIs (engagement, referrals, conversions)

Assist with campaign planning tied to revenue growth

Support promotion of new services and programs

4. Administrative & Operational Support

Maintain organized marketing systems and campaign trackers

Document outreach activity and maintain reporting logs

Participate in weekly team check-ins

Complete assigned projects within defined timelines

Specific Duties & Projects

The Marketing Intern will be responsible for executing and contributing to the following high-impact projects:

Ongoing Weekly Duties

Build and update a Minnesota referral contact list (county agencies, treatment centers, hospitals, private practices)

Send and track outreach emails and follow-ups

Create weekly social media content batches aligned with brand voice

Design and update digital referral flyers and one-pagers

Monitor engagement metrics and adjust content strategy accordingly

Monthly / Campaign-Based Projects

Develop and execute targeted email marketing campaigns for referral partners

Create Canva-ready marketing materials for outreach and partnerships

Assist in building specialty service campaigns (e.g., trauma therapy, ADHD services, hypnotherapy)

Support statewide marketing initiatives targeting Minnesota providers and organizations

Conduct competitor analysis and present growth recommendations

Strategic Growth Projects

Assist in building a scalable referral pipeline system

Help develop partnership outreach strategy for counties, MCOs, and treatment programs

Contribute to branding and messaging refinement based on market response

Support development of automated outreach systems (email sequences, tracking tools)

Assist leadership with new service launches and expansion strategies

Optional / Advanced Projects (Based on Skill Level)

Create and edit video marketing content for ads and social media

Assist in SEO optimization and website traffic growth strategies

Support CRM setup and optimization for referral tracking

Help build marketing dashboards to track ROI and campaign performance

Required Skills (Must-Have)

Strong written communication (professional, concise, persuasive)

Basic graphic design ability (Canva or similar)

Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok)

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Comfort with outreach and professional communication

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

Social media scheduling tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.)

Basic understanding of analytics (engagement, conversions, ROI)

Video editing (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, etc.)

Email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact)

CRM or database management experience

Interest in behavioral health or healthcare systems

Minimum Requirements

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from Marketing, Communications, Business, Psychology, or related field

Ability to commit 10–20 hours per week

Reliable internet and ability to work remotely

Professional communication skills suitable for a healthcare setting

Willingness to take initiative and execute tasks independently
