Are you an educator ready to make a difference in the lives of birth to 3-year-olds and their families as a Developmental Specialist Early Interventionist? The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Infant Toddler Program seek unique individuals who can provide key evidence-based practices that support caregiver know-how and development of their infants/toddler’s experiencing delays or disabilities. The geographical assignment is within Bonner and Boundary Counties, based out of the Ponderay office. Travel is required to provide in-person evaluations and services in the child's natural environments, such as home, childcare, etc. Services are provided in the child's natural environments applying coaching interaction methods. Services to families may include using virtual early intervention presence as well as in-person visits. Interventionists apply evidence-based practices built on providing caregiver consultation, coaching strategies, and parent education to capitalize on the learning opportunities within family routines.
The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
- Administer, analyze, and interpret child diagnostic evaluations for eligibility and program planning.
- Participate in eligibility meetings, Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goal planning, and progress reviews.
- Provide Early Intervention services to enrolled families within their natural environments using routine-based interventions with caregiver participation.
- Model and apply effective evidence-based practices related to birth to three populations, including adult learning methods and during joint visits.
- Serve as primary interventionist representing and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Submit and maintain documentation of each service delivered according to program established timelines and processes.
- Collaborate and share expertise during multidisciplinary team meetings for strategy sharing, support, and teaming focused on child services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position.
- Item 1: Exceptional Child Certificate with Special Education Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement or an Elementary Education Certificate (K-12) with Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement or a Blended Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education Certificate.
OR:
- Item 2: Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following required degree fields: special education, elementary education, speech-language pathology, early childhood education, physical therapy, psychology, social work, or nursing AND a minimum of 24 credits in Early Childhood Special Education that specifically address the following EC/ECSE standards: Promoting Development and Learning for Children Birth to 3; Building Family and Community Relationship to Support Early Interventions and Early Education; Observing, Documenting and Assessing to Support Young Families and Children; Using Developmentally Effective Approaches for Early Learning; Content and Knowledge in Early Education and Early Childhood Special Education; and Building Meaningful Curriculum, to Include Development of IFSPs and IEPs. Note: A Bachelor of Applied Science does not meet the degree requirements for this position.
OR:
- Item 3: (Under a conditional hiring agreement). Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the previously described required degree fields and agreement and reasonable ability to complete a minimum of 24 credits with content in required Early Childhood Special Education standards within three years. Note: A Bachelor of Applied Science does not meet the degree requirements for this position.
