Middle School Science Teacher

 

We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Middle School Science Teacher to inspire students and cultivate a passion for scientific discovery. The ideal candidate will create a supportive, student-centered classroom environment while delivering rigorous instruction aligned to Florida standards. This role plays a key part in developing critical thinking skills and preparing students to become informed, capable, and curious future leaders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver standards-aligned science instruction (e.g., life, physical, and earth/space sciences)
  • Design engaging, hands-on lessons, labs, and inquiry-based activities
  • Use data to drive instruction and monitor student progress
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that supports academic and social-emotional growth
  • Integrate technology and real-world applications into lessons
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress with families
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff
  • Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
  • Uphold school policies and Florida Department of Education requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field (required)
  • Valid Florida Educator Certificate in Middle Grades Science (Grades 5–9) or eligibility to obtain
  • ESOL and Reading Endorsements (or willingness to obtain per district requirements)
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Commitment to student achievement and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience in a middle school setting
  • Experience with STEM integration and project-based learning
  • Familiarity with Florida Standards and state assessments
