Police Officer
The City of Cuyahoga Falls Police Department has immediate openings for applicants to join our team. The department maintains a strong partnership with the community to make long-term improvements to the safety and quality of life within our city.
APPLICANT MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS TO APPLY:
- Be between the ages of 21 and 40 years old at the time of the original appointment to the position of Police Officer with the City of Cuyahoga Falls,
- Be a United States citizen,
- Be able to read and write the English language,
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent,
- Be of good moral character, and
- Be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
Valid Ohio Police Officer Training Commission (“OPOTC”) certification is preferred. Possession of an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, OR a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, or a related field is also preferred.
CFPD Police Officer Job Description
The Cuyahoga Falls Police Department includes numerous specialized units, such as the Detective Bureau, School Resource Officers, SWAT, K-9, bicycle patrol, and a training unit. We also participate with the U.S. Marshals’ Violent Fugitive Task Force and have a member assigned to the County Drug Task Force. Our organization is dedicated to providing ongoing training both within and outside of the department. We also have a new indoor shooting range and training center.

PAY RANGE: The starting pay will range from $32.66 to $37.71/hour, based on the applicant’s previous experience as a Police Officer in the State of Ohio.
Applicants moving past the initial application phase will be required to pass supplemental examinations, including but not limited to: a physical fitness examination, preliminary background investigation, psychological examination, polygraph examination, detailed character and background investigation, and a structured interview(s).

- Copy of diploma from an accredited college; and/or
