Marketing and Customer Service Intern

Position summary: 

SDC Nutrition is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to support our Marketing and Customer Service teams during the summer term. This internship offers hands-on exposure to business operations within a fast-paced consumer products environment. The intern will assist with marketing initiatives, customer service and engagement, administrative support, and special projects while gaining practical professional experience.

 

Essential functions and responsibilities:

Marketing Support

  • Assist with content creation for marketing campaigns, social media, and internal communications 
  • Support promotional planning, product launches, and brand initiatives 
  • Help organize marketing materials, digital assets, and campaign tracking 
  • Conduct market and competitor research as assigned 
  • Assist with event planning, giveaways, and promotional projects 

Customer Service Support

  • Provide administrative support including customer service
  • Assist with responding to customer inquiries via email and phone under supervision 
  • Help document customer concerns, trends, and feedback 
  • Support order issue resolution and customer follow-up efforts 
  • Maintain accurate records in internal systems 

General / Cross-Functional Support

  • Complete special projects and administrative tasks as assigned 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support business initiatives 
  • Participate in team meetings and departmental projects

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
  • Must have successfully completed 2 years of college or university
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment 
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn 
  • Prior internship, customer service, or marketing experience preferred but not required

 

Physical demands and work environment: 

  • Must be able to walk, stand, sit, see, hear, speak, for extended periods of time, and ability to climb into and out of forklift.
  • Work involves exposure to known allergens including but not limited to peanuts.
  • Requires exposure to temperature extremes and exposure to outside weather conditions from open dock doors, dirt, dust, fumes, chemicals, etc.
  • Requires exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
  • Position requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear, which may include use of respirator. 
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 20 lbs. and work in a maintenance or warehouse setting.

 

Workdays and Shifts:

  • Position works Monday through Thursday on site
  • Summer internship – May-August – or agreed upon timeframe
  • Day shift – 8am-4pm - or as agreed upon
