Nighttime Lab Technician
Job Summary:
The Nighttime lab Technician provides plant support from an analytical lab standpoint in wet chemistry. This position will work directly with operations to keep systems within desired specifications as well as work under the lab manager supporting the daytime staffing by performing full analysis of the inbound and outbound products as well. Maintaining lab cleanliness is a must. This position will mainly be a self-driven position but will have a team participation aspect as well.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive in-processing samples.
- Perform analysis for inbound and outbound products.
- Report all data through proper lab outlets.
- Maintain lab cleanliness.
- Interplant communication with all plant level personnel and some external contacts as well.
- Perform equipment calibration on occasion.
- Routinely operate balances, scales, pH detectors, automated titrators as well as manual titrations, GCs, viscosity testing, furnaces, etc.
- Inventory of lab chemicals for reorder.
- Ensure usage of proper PPE as required/needed.
Skills and Education Requirements:
- Associates of Applied Science or greater preferred.
- 2-3 years related experience in lieu of associate’s degree.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn gas chromatography
- Basic Industrial Wastewater License or interest in obtaining at company cost.
- Ability to be self-driven and results oriented.
- Willingness to work nights.
