As a Camp Med-o-lark Artist-in-Residence, you'll be a teacher, mentor, and creative spark all in one. You'll lead daily classes in your medium, guide campers through hands-on projects, and help every artist—beginner or seasoned—find their voice in our screen-free, non-competitive community.

Core Responsibilities

Teach What You Love
Plan and lead daily classes in your medium—whether that's painting, ceramics, jewelry, photography, or beyond—designing projects that meet campers where they are and stretch them to try something new.

Spark Creative Confidence
Coach campers one-on-one and in groups, demonstrate techniques, and create a studio culture where experimentation is celebrated, mistakes are part of the process, and every camper feels proud of what they make.

Run a Safe & Inspiring Studio
Keep your space organized, your materials stocked, and your tools used safely—supervising campers during class and transitions so the studio stays a place where creativity can really happen.

Celebrate Camper Artwork
Help campers prepare pieces for exhibitions, showcases, and end-of-session art shows—giving their work the spotlight it deserves and showing them what they're capable of.

Be a Great Teammate
Collaborate with fellow instructors and the Arts Department Head, show up for staff meetings and all-camp events, and jump into the wider rhythms of camp life—because the magic of Med-o-lark is built together.
