  • Background in mixed media art
  • Painting instruction experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach beginner to intermediate pottery wheel classes and workshops.
  • Lead painting and mixed clay media projects for walk-ins, classes, and events.
  • Provide excellent front studio hospitality — greeting guests, assisting with project selection, and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Prepare materials, set up workspaces, and keep the studio tidy and organized.
  • Offer clear, encouraging guidance to guests of all ages and skill levels.
  • Assist with glazing, kiln loading/unloading, and pottery finishing as needed.
  • Support special events such as parties, camps, and community programs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Demonstrated skill and experience with the pottery wheel.
  • Friendly, approachable teaching style with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work with children and adults in a creative environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with mixed media art projects and painting instruction.
  • Background in art education or prior studio teaching experience.
  • Basic knowledge of ceramics processes (glazing, firing, clay care).

Schedule & Pay

  • Part-time: 20 hours/week, can include weekends.
  • Flexible schedule with potential for additional hours during busy seasons.
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience, plus studio perks.
