Product Intelligence Intern
About the role
Our Product Engine identifies high-margin product opportunities by pulling signals from Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Keepa, and our internal Core Buying System, scoring candidates, and pushing decisions out to our channels. As a Product Intelligence intern, you will own a piece of this pipeline end to end.
What you'll build
- Connectors that pull product research data from third-party APIs (Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Keepa) on a schedule, with rate-limit handling.
- Features for our scoring model — joining signals on GTIN/ASIN, computing margin %, demand index, competition index, and risk index.
- A small UI tool for merchandisers to override automated PROMOTE / KEEP / DEMOTE / RETIRE decisions.
- Backtests comparing our scoring decisions against actual sales results.
What you'll learn
- Python, PostgreSQL, REST API integration at production scale.
- How real recommendation/scoring systems work in commerce.
- Reading and contributing to a production codebase with code review and CI/CD.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
- Comfortable in Python and SQL.
- Have built at least one project that calls a third-party API (school project counts).
- Curious about ecommerce, marketplaces, or quantitative analysis.
Nice to have
- Coursework or projects in data engineering, ML, or statistics.
- Familiarity with pandas, requests, or any ORM.
