In particular, the Analyst will closely follow actions related to Executive Orders and other policy directives from the White House; regulatory and licensing activities at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC); nuclear reactor/fuel initiatives at the Department of Energy (DOE) and national laboratories; deployment programs at the Department of Defense/War; nuclear waste cleanup activity at DOE-managed sites; legislative actions affecting the nuclear energy sector in the US Congress (as well as state governments to a lesser extent); and private-sector/industry developments.
  • Conveying insights to clients both through written correspondence and in meetings.
  • Organizing meetings and site visits with US government agencies, industry groups, and companies to support ITTA client requirements.

ITTA research projects range from concise e-mail updates and responses to individual client questions to larger research studies that span several weeks/months. The Nuclear Energy and Nonproliferation Analyst may be required to compile and present the summary results of his/her research studies and conduct briefings on a variety of issues.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects deadlines
  • Willingness to work on behalf of international clients
  • Flexibility to work on a variety of projects and subject areas, as needed
  • Master’s degree in energy policy, international relations, public policy, business, or a related field.
